Message

Forge Storage data inaccessible after re-install of app

Details

Investigating - We are currently investigating an issue related to Forge Storage and ongoing access to data as a result of site suspension or app un-installation.We have identified a change in behaviour as part of introducing support for Data Residency to Forge storage that has been progressively rolled out from the April 11th 2024. If an app is uninstalled and then reinstalled, the app will no longer have access to data stored by the app before uninstallation. While we continue this investigation we would caution users against uninstalling and reinstalling apps at this time with the expectation of data retention. We will provide another update by 2024-05-20 23:00:00 UTC, in about 16 hours from now on this investigation. Update - We have verified that our remedial actions have been effective in restoring the operations of apps that were affected by this incident. During our cross-examination, we didn’t find any evidence of errors impacting the consistency of the data stored in our database. Later today we will re-run the migration of custom entities data to ensure no entry contains an empty value. This process is estimated to finish in the next 2-3 days. Once this is done we will close the incident. We expect to have an update within the next 3-4 days. May 10, 2024 - 00:27 UTC

Forge Storage Intermittently Blocking Some Apps to Forge Storage

Details

Investigating - In response to some support tickets raised we have identified that since 2024-03-12 there has been a significant increase in failures for Forge apps calling the Forge Storage API. These failures are affecting multiple apps and appear to be inconsistant in nature. This impacts Forge Apps ability to retrieve and/or persist data using Forge Storage. We do not yet have any expected resolution time or mitigation for apps or customers. We will continue to investigate the cause of this incident and provide another update by 2024-03-25 01:00.
